As a means of setting our individual agendas, let's use the below list of skills & knowledge to determine where we are and what goals we need to set. So.....how much of the following do you know &/or can you do?

  * C major scale in open position played at 60bpm
  * A minor pentatonic scale (5th position/box 1) played at 60bpm

Chords
  * All major & minor open position chords (C A G E D Am Em Dm)
  * All dom-7 open chords (A7 B7 C7 D7 E7 G7)
  * All minor-7 open chords (Am7 Bm7 Dm7 Em7)
  * 1-5 powerchord shape and inverted powerchord shape

Technique
  * fingerstyle patterns –3 picking patterns
  * picking patterns –3 picking patterns
  * picking – understanding of down- and up-stroke, & alternate and economy picking
  * slurs – basic grasp of hammer-ons and pull-offs
  * touchstyle – basic grasp of pick-hand “tapping”
  * slides – ability to slide single note 7 frets & chords 5 frets
  * vibrato – basic grasp of both “bend” vibrato & “stretch” vibrato
  * bends – basic grasp of string bending
  * harmonics – basic grasp of fret 12, 7, & 5 harmonics

Songs
  * strum songs – 25 basic sing-along songs
  * solo guitar – 1 song for unaccompanied guitar
  * blues – ability to play basic 8- & 12-bar blues progressions (straight & shuffle) and understanding of “quick change” and “turn-around”

Improvisation & Miscellany
  * ability to do basic improv over 12-bar blues in A (and understand basic options)
  * ability to do basic improve over diatonic progressions (in C)   

   * ability to strum, clap/slap, and speak basic rhythms
